Washington, D.C., June 26, 2019 --In the wake of a toddler almost being impaled in Myrtle Beach, S.C. last week, an unprecedented groundswell of public support among the public for Sand Up for Safety’s ™ mission and Buoy Beach’s commitment to corporate responsibility in elevating the safety of its customers has resulted in their teaming up to work with the U.S. Congress toward establishing uniform standards among existing marketplace solutions.
Marking the one-year anniversary of Sand Up for Safety’s ™ origin on Nantucket’s Jetties Beach, where Houton witnessed a wind-blown beach umbrella nearly injure his, and other children, Sand Up for Safety ™ and Buoy Beach will Co-Host an invitation only-event on July 25, 2019, on Nantucket in which Members of Congress, industry leaders, and prominent national advocates are slated to attend. Included among the invitees are the major retailers of beach umbrellas; Amazon, Home Depot, and Walmart. Sen. Cory Booker and Sen. Bob Menendez are leaders on this effort in Congress.
